MR. MICHAEL MARKS, FCI DIRECTOR OF

Doctorate degree, a Top Secret clearance and exceptional
writing and verbal skills with considerable achievements
as both an author and public speaker. Extremely welltraveled
and globally astute, with significant experience
working first hand with senior executive government,
intelligence, military and law enforcement personnel in
Israel, Europe, Africa, the Far East as well as both North,
Central and South America. Maintains considerable upto-
date expertise in the field of advanced counterterrorism
training. Excels in multi-discipline / multi-agency
environments managing competing tasks and priorities.
Mr. Marks possesses a broad array of knowledge and experience related to a range of homeland
security, emergency response and threat scenario simulation from which he has produced
training programs that have been integrated into state law enforcement and emergency response
certification requirements in 27 states, to include adoption within:
· Federal Bureau of Investigation · Drug Enforcement Agency
· Central Intelligence Agency · High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area
· Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives · U.S. Secret Service
Mr. Marks independently authored The Emergency Responder’s Guide to Terrorism which has
been adopted by such entities as the State of New York, the International Fire Service Training
Association / Oklahoma State University, George Washington University, the American College
of Forensic Examiners, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and the FBI
Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Marks serves as an Adjunct Professor on
terrorism/WMD at the George Washington University College of Forensic Science and develops
courseware for the Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy’s Bio-terror curriculum. Mr.
Marks is a frequently featured lecturer at venues ranging from the Washington DC Homeland
Security Symposium, lecturing on Terrorism Response in High Security Facilities, to the
national Fire Department Instructor’s Conference. He has been called upon to appear before
various legislative bodies, such as the California General Assembly, to provide expert testimony
on terrorism and other threat related topics. Commissioned as a Virginia law enforcement
officer, Mr. Marks served the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad police department in the
development of that agency’s bomb detection unit.
ADDENDA: On a personal note, Michael Marks has written one novel, Dominant Species, as
well as numerous patriotic poems that have appeared in publications ranging from Stars &
Stripes, The Washington Times to literally thousands of websites, magazines, newspapers and
journals as well as holding award-winning status in the International War Veteran’s Poetry
Archive. Mr. Marks was deeply honored to accept membership in the 390th Strategic Missile
Wing Alumni Association as well as being named the Poet Laureate of the 9th Infantry Division
(SONID). "When Titans Walked" hangs as part of the permanent display at the Titan Missile
Museum in Arizona. In 2007, "A Soldier’s Christmas" was recorded and released by CMA
award-winning country music superstar Michael Martin Murphy.
