Passing of April McMurdo

We regret to inform our FCSA friends and members that our beloved friend and .50 caliber competitor, April McMurdo, lovely wife of our past President Lynn McMurdo, has passed after a lengthy fight with cancer. We were notified late Saturday by their good friend Scott Nye that both April & Lynn were in the hospital in Afton, WY. Late Sunday January 3d, Scott was informed by Matt McMurdo that April had passed.

Those of us who knew April loved her very much and have always questioned why the McMurdo family had to suffer the way they have during the past five years. April will be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Lynn and his family.

It is recommended that those who wish to do so, make a donation of cash to the April McMurdo Memorial Fund at either the office of FCSA or FCI. All contributions will be forwarded to the McMurdo family.

FCSA Friends,

Lynn and April McMurdo are currently both in the hospital in Afton, WY. As most of you are aware, Lynn has suffered from serious cardiac disease for several years now, and was hospitalized again on Christmas. He is quite ill and will not survive his next cardiac event. As some of you may be aware, April has been fighting breast cancer for several years now also. She took a turn for the worse and is also in the hospital, not expected to last more than a couple of weeks, if she survives the weekend. April and Lynn have kept a very low profile over the past couple of years, and also suffered the tragedy of the death of their daughter Alyssa this past year.

While some may remember Lynn because of his passionate opinions regarding how things should have been done in the FCSA, he will always be remembered because he stepped in when Skip passed away, and kept the association moving forward. No one other than Skip has done more for the FCSA. It is hard for me to understand why the McMurdo family has had to suffer so much.

I would ask for you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Scott
